In London in the late &#8217;50s the term rave was used to describe the wild\u00a0bohemian parties of the Soho beatnik set. In 1958\u00a0Buddy Holly recorded the hit <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/5rnXAOpW19A\"><em>Rave On<\/em><\/a>\u00a0citing the madness and frenzy of a feeling and the desire for it to never end. Rave was later used in the mod culture of the early &#8217;60s.\u00a0The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/sweetjanespopboutique.blogspot.com\/2011\/12\/stars-garters-at-electric-circus-new.html\">Electric Circus<\/a>\u00a0nightclub and discotheque, opened in 1967 in the East Village on St. Marks Place in New York City. With a mix of light shows, music, circus performers and experimental theater, it embodied the &#8217;60s club culture.
