NYMD AM Spring/Summer

The AM shows at New York Men’s Day opened New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2025. The all day event is an eclectic assortment of emerging brands. The morning presentation shown here had five designers who showcased their collections: Clara Son, Earthling VIP, Sivan Apparel, A.Potts, and The Salting whose story was posted earlier. NYMD is an AgentryPR initiative intended to help nurture emerging talent and consolidate the showing of contemporary menswear and genderless collections. Street Scene’s afternoon shows will follow this post. Sponsored by Hilldun Corporation, Sperry, and Victorinox.

Scene: Clara Son’s “Reminiscence” Capsule Presentation. The South Korean born menswear designer was inspired by the bicycle, and the interwoven nature of the bicycle basket as seen in her knits. A blend of neutral and the excitement of bold colors on matte and shiny fabrics. The ease of oversized pants. She studied fashion design at Parsons The New School for Design, and finished her MFA fashion design program at Fashion Institute of Technology. She always seeks designs that have never been seen before, to stay away from fast fashion, and to combine classic aspects with innovative designs, ultimately providing post-genderism in her elegant and minimal design.

Scene: Earthling VIP’s “Doves Cry” Presentation. Designers and Creative Directors Earth Crokett and Nicholas Baier, both 27, are originally from Minnesota. They moved to Los Angeles right after high school to follow their dreams. Their background in dance and the arts has shaped their focus, mixing old traditions with new ideas. Connecting the past and the now.
Earthling dives into the raw energy of a bygone era channeling the untamed spirit of the 70s/80s biker crew. This collection draws inspiration from the iconic film The Warriors, blending the rebellious and the vulnerable. Rock culture also plays a tune in this collection — a nod to musical legends Michael Jackson, Prince, and Janet Jackson. Dove Cry manifests this energy through silhouettes, hardware, and fabrications.

Scene: Sivan “Garden Party” Presentation. Designer Jack Sivan is a sustainable menswear designer whose work is inspired by traditional tailoring. As a teen he taught himself how to sew and created an upcycled bowtie company. He went on to receive a formal arts education at the Rhode Island School of Design and holds a BFA in Apparel Design and a minor in Sustainability Studies.
His collections are often inspired by paintings. John Singer Sargent’s Claude Monet painting by the edge of a wood, 1885 influenced this collection for this idyllic picnic with a diverse cast of models. Undefined luxury with a color palette from yellow to blues with warm and cool neutrals. This collection is wearable and relaxed. The perfect day “by the edge of a wood.”

Scene: A.Potts “Urbanoceana” Presentation. Designer Aaron Potts was born and raised in Detroit, MI. A childhood filled with church, weekend fishing trips, going to work with his carpenter father and shopping with his dress-loving mother would shape his future view of art and design.
This collection was inspired by visions of the deep sea, the beauty of aquatic life, the warrior Princess Diana on Themyscira, beachy 70s supermodels, African gods and goddesses descended on the sandy beaches of Zanzibar, traditional Japanese workwear and the work of South African photographers Jessica Madavo and Tanatswa Amisi. The collection is a convergence of the practicality of urban life with that dream-like state of mind, featuring various colors, prints, fabrics, and silhouettes. Knits, solids, and sequins. The aquatic hues of blues and the unexpected hues of brown were exciting. The collection is a convergence of urban life with that dream-like state of mind.
