Warming Trend

IMG_9033sm2
Scene: Spring. It finally arrived, but a bit erratic in temperature. Cold to warm to hot to cool. Yesterday it was hot, today was cool. Style choices based on the thermometer. Sporting white kicks (sneakers) are on the streets of Manhattan during the day and white nights too. White is one of the seasons bright colors. Black never goes away. Caramel, orange, yellow, green, and blue. Denim on the street and the runways. Streamlined and more polished activewear. Stripes, gingham, plaid, and checks. Flower power in colorful floral graphics. 70’s and a bohemian sensibility are groovy too.

Winter Goes

IMG_5721sm
Scene: The first day of Spring brought more snow. Winter was making an unwelcome comeback. And, it seems Winter wants to hang around. The March vernal equinox coincided with a super moon and a total eclipse of the sun.
The timeless camel color utilized by menswear designers for Fall 2014 continues into Spring/Summer 2015 in lighter tints. Designers used cream, others opted for white, and vivid brights. Three color combinations for this season are khaki with white, black with white, and blue with brown. Blues are a hit again, and especially washed out jeans. Flashback 90s, plaid shirts, not flannel, wrapped around the waist is the perfect grunge accessory.

Be My Valentine

IMG_Lovesf
Scene and Heard: Love, Robert Indiana’s sculpture, and Not A Bad Thing
performed by Justin Timberlake and The Tennessee Kings, live on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show. The song is a mid-tempo pop ballad that makes use of an acoustic guitar throughout, with its lyrics centering around the semantic field of love. A song of love and hope. I just can’t get enough of it!

IMG_Hopesf
Scene and Heard: Hope, Robert Indiana’s sculpture, and Not A Bad Thing selected lyrics. I said if I had one wish I know what I’d wish for / Is to see you tomorrow / And every tomorrow / Maybe you’ll let me borrow, your heart ? / And is it too much to ask for every Sunday? / An while we’re at it throw in every other day to start / I know people make promises all the time / Then they turn right around and break them / No I won’t fill your mind with broken promises / And if you fall / Youll always land right in these arms / Cause you might find your dreams come true with me / Itnot a bad thing to fall in love with me.
