Les Avenues

IMG_0660
Scene: A wintery mix of style and ease. Spirited and effortless. Subtle and smart. Parisian and international chic. Monotones, blacks, whites and blues, muted hues, a surprise of color, and touches of gold on the avenues of Paris and Versailles. Rockers, athletic references, lux materials, and bohemia. Jouir (enjoy)!

Scene & Heard: A few days after my 30th birthday, I left Lucca, Italy and went to Paris. One day, I walked down the Avenue des Champs-Élysées with my Sony Walkman and headset listening to A Free Man in Paris by Joni Mitchell. I was a free man in Paris / I’d just walk out those doors / And wanderDown the Champs-Élysées.

Scene: “When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter.  Away to the window we flew like a flash. The moon on the new fallen snow. When, what to our wondering eyes should appear, but a sleigh, and nine reindeer. We knew in a moment it must be Saint Nick. On the roof, the prancing of each little hoof. Santa sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, and away they all flew. But we heard him exclaim, Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!” Paraphrased from Clement Clarke Moore’s The Night Before Christmas.
