Scene: The Chiara Boni La Petite Robe Fall/Winter 20/21 show at Spring Studios. From behind the scenes, first looks, and to the runway. The Italian designer Chiara Boni embraced a vibrant Spanish mood. This translated into the lively, upbeat vibe echoed in the collection, which also welcomed elements of the Castilian iconography, including fringes, polka dots, and matador hats.
Rich textures take center stage in the lineup. Plush velvet is juxtaposed to the brand’s signature sustainable jersey fabric. Solid tones of black, blue, burgundy, lime yellow, kelly green, and pink find a place next to both feminine maxi floral patterns and more mannish sartorial motifs, including Prince of Wales, herringbone and checks, which are made more glamorous through glittery effects and delicate hues. Plissé tulle sleeves, charming peplums, soft knots, and delicate drapes inject movement and grace into the sophisticated mini, midi, and maxi dresses, their refined, timeless femininity counterbalanced by the tailoring sharpness of cuffed pants and waisted blazers.
